Introduction

The Procurement Unit of the University was established in 2017 following the creation of procurement cadre in the federal civil service and the directive of Federal Government that all MDAs of Government to create a procurement in their various organizations. The Unit helps in accounting for every kobo of Government that is being spent, through well-defined procurement processes. All Procurements of the University are being managed by the Unit in accordance with the Public Procurement act (PPA) 2007 and international global practice in the field of Procurement.

Mission

To ensure Procurement process in the University that will bring about Transparency, Fairness, Competition and Judicious use of scarce resources to give value for money.

Vision

Creating an efficient University Procurement system that is in line with the Public Procurement Act 2007.

Structure of the Unit

The Procurement Unit is directly under the Vice chancellor’s office and is answerable to the Vice Chancellor. The Vice Chancellor (Accounting Officer) supervises the activities of the Unit including all procurement processes and makes sure that all the processes are in line with the laid down rules and regulations.

    Q/S Abubakar Haruna is a Quantity Surveyor and Procurement officer by training, a graduate of the Federal University of Technology, Minna Quantity Surveying Department 1998, a Diploma Certificate holder in computer science from Usman Danfodio University Sokoto 1999, he was the Head of Quantity Surveying of Physical Planning and Development Unit of FUT Minna, 2002 to 2017, he is the Head of University Procurement Unit, from 2017 till date..

  • Principal Procurement Officer

    KOLO Ndataidi Dan is from Lavun Local Government in Niger State. His first appointment with the University was on the 6th of June, 2012. He is currently a Principal Procurement Officer with the Procurement Unit. He holds a Master of Science (MSc) in Interior Architecture from Eastern Mediterranean University Cyprus (2015), Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech) in Architecture from the Federal University of Technology Minna (2010).

  • Principal Procurement Officer

    Yusuf, Alhaji Muhammed is from Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State. He was first appointed as a Store Officer of the University on the 1st June, 2007. He is currently a Principal Procurement Officer with the Procurement Unit. He holds a Bachelorr of Science (BSc) in Business Administration from Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida University Lapai Niger State (2015), Higher National Diploma in Purchasing and Supply (HND) from Kwara State Polytechnic Ilorin (1996).

All activities are carried out in strict compliance with the Bureau of Public Procurement (BPP) guidelines.
To inform, educate and enlighten stakeholders Processes so as to sustain a positive image of the University. Ensure compliance with laid down requirements in every project implementation.
